NeGD Integrates 2000 e-Government Services Across India on DigiLocker and e-District Platforms

New Delhi: The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), operating under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has achieved a major milestone with the nationwide integration of nearly 2,000 e-Government services on DigiLocker and e-District platforms.

With this achievement, citizens in all 36 States and Union Territories can now seamlessly access certificates, welfare schemes, utility payments, and other citizen-centric services anytime and anywhere.

Pan-India Expansion of e-Government Services

The integration covers a wide range of services designed to enhance convenience, efficiency, and transparency.

These include essential certificates, government welfare schemes, and utility-related facilities. The development aligns with the vision of the Digital India programme, promoting paperless and mobile governance and directly contributing to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

DigiLocker as a Digital Infrastructure Pillar

DigiLocker has emerged as a key component of India’s digital public infrastructure by overcoming challenges related to interoperability, data security, and multi-stakeholder coordination. Its framework has enabled inclusivity, accessibility, and trust in delivering e-Government services, empowering citizens with reliable digital solutions.

States Leading in e-Government Services Availability

As of now, 1,938 services are available across the nation. Maharashtra leads with 254 services, followed by Delhi (123), Karnataka (113), Assam (102), and Uttar Pradesh (86). Kerala and Jammu & Kashmir each provide 77 services, Andhra Pradesh offers 76, Gujarat delivers 64, while Tamil Nadu and Goa each offer 63. Haryana provides 60 services and Himachal Pradesh 58, further strengthening the nationwide digital service ecosystem.

Future Expansion of e-Government Services

Building on this achievement, NeGD plans to expand the portfolio of e-Government services using AI-driven technologies. Structured training and workshops at the State level will enhance awareness and adoption, while continued innovation will improve inclusivity and last-mile delivery of services.

This milestone reflects the Government of India’s commitment to using technology as a tool for empowerment, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a digitally inclusive and enabled India.
